Situation

Haizz AI is an AI-powered interior design platform that allows users to upload or scan their floor plan, choose their preferred style (modern, Scandinavian, minimalist, etc.), and instantly receive a personalized 3D interior layout. When I joined, the product vision was strong but the user journey was fragmented — users didn’t fully understand the flow from scanning/uploading to viewing 3D results, and early prototypes lacked emotional engagement and consistency in UI.

Task

As a Product Designer, my responsibility was to define the end-to-end product experience, ensuring that Haizz AI delivered both technological precision and emotional delight. Key objectives included:

  • Clarify the onboarding and feature discovery flow.
  • Build a cohesive design system aligned with the Haizz brand.
  • Increase user conversion from first interaction to 3D design generation.

Action

Through user interviews and usability testing with both homeowners and design enthusiasts, I identified key pain points:

  • Unclear entry points: Users were unsure how to start (scan, upload, or choose template).
  • Low feedback visibility: The system’s progress (AI rendering time, success state) wasn’t clearly communicated.
  • Inconsistent aesthetics: Early screens mixed multiple visual languages (flat, 3D, gradient) and caused cognitive friction.

Result

The new product experience created a more intuitive and emotionally engaging journey, allowing users to complete design generation easily without confusion.

The modern visual system and guided onboarding significantly enhanced the perceived quality and trust in the AI feature.

Stakeholders and early adopters appreciated the balance between technology and aesthetics, seeing Haizz AI as both smart and inspiring.

The improved experience became the core foundation for future AI modules like furniture recommendation and visualization.
